“Another Great Week” Newsletter from Principal Ferguson

Dear Lancer Families,

This week, we began our IOWA/CogAT testing in grades 3-8. Things have gone fairly smoothly so far with only one hiccup yesterday when the entire Data Manager System crashed. The kids were resilient and rolled with the punches.  We will finish up testing next Monday and Tuesday. Please continue to remind your children that this data is valuable for staff and teachers to make instructional decisions for their education. A good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast are important.

Couple important things to note about next week…

  1. No All School Mass on Wednesday as all the priests will be at a conference.

  2. The Annual Lancer Dash will be on Thursday Morning. A schedule of running times for each grade will be sent next week. Please come join us and cheer on our students. They have done an amazing job helping us raise needed funds for the Science Lab.

  3. NO AM/PM BUS service on Friday, September 22. All students will need to find alternate transportation to and from school next Friday.

Make it a great day Lancers!

Adam Ferguson

Principal, St. Michael Parish School

  • Did you know that plastic bread tags cannot be recycled traditionally in our recycling bins? The 7th grade class will again be partnering with SCARCE for this recycling project. SCARCE works with an organization out of Indiana called Danielle Cares for Chairs (click for full .pdf) that recycles bread tags to raise funds for providing wheelchairs and other forms of mobility equipment for those in need. Starting now, please save your bread tags and send them to school with your child. Each homeroom has a collection container in their room. This collection will run through the end of the school year and continue into next school year. Thank you for supporting this awesome cause!
