AGW 9/19
Dear Lancer Families,
After a shortened week last week, it was wonderful to be back in full swing—with working bathrooms and a smooth flow restored!
We did run into some technical issues with the Riverside Data Manager, the system that runs CogAT testing for grades 3–7. Because of a nationwide glitch, we had to pause testing until the company resolved the problem. We’ve been assured the system will be back up and running by Monday, at which point we will resume testing.
Looking ahead, next week will be another short four day week, as Friday is reserved for our Teacher Inservice. During this time, our staff will participate in annual ALICE Training with the Wheaton Police Department, running through various safety scenarios and holding discussions on all aspects of school safety. We’ll also spend time reviewing iReady Diagnostic 1 data that students recently completed. Results will be sent home after next week.
On Thursday, we look forward to the much anticipated Lancer Dash! A big thank you in advance to all of our generous supporters who have contributed to this year’s event. We are blessed with such a giving community. The funds raised will help support the exciting new kitchen project in the Parish Center, which we can’t wait to see come to life.
In addition, I’ve been meeting with playground engineers and architects as we move forward with plans for a new playground, part of our United Campus Project that will incorporate Willow Ave. into our school campus. As you may recall, last year’s Lancer Dash funds are being directed toward this project, and we are eager to see it take shape.
Make it a great day, Lancers!
