AGW 10/24
Dear Lancer Families,
As technology continues to play a significant role in our students’ lives, helping them navigate the digital world safely and responsibly has become an important part of our mission at St. Michael Parish School. We believe that helping students become safe, respectful, and responsible digital citizens requires a strong partnership between home and school. We continue to make it a priority to provide meaningful opportunities for both students and parents to learn more about online safety, digital balance, and responsible communication.
Over the past month, we have provided several opportunities for both students and parents to learn more about cyber safety and responsible technology use:
On September 30th, students in Jr. High viewed Screenagers: The Next Chapter.
This week, Liz Repking presented lessons on Cyber Safety to all Junior High students.
Last week, we hosted a parent screening of Screenagers: Mental Health.
All parents received an email from SMPO with links to view all three Screenagers films from home.
Coming up on December 10th, the Diocese will offer Beyond the Books, a virtual program for parents focusing on the topic of Safety and Technology presented by experts from Homeland Security.
If your child has access to a device that allows them to use social media, group chats, or online gaming platforms, we ask that you continue to monitor their online activity closely. Together, we can reinforce the lessons of respect, kindness, and digital responsibility that we are emphasizing at school.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Make it a great day, Lancers!
