Apply at St. Michael

We warmly welcome you to St. Michael Parish School! These school years are such an exciting time. It brings us great joy to have your child and your family be part of our school community!

Applications for new families open November 1st for the following year. Each New Student Application Form entry is date- and time-stamped, so if a grade level becomes full, a waiting list will form based on priority, then by the submission date and time of your form. We encourage applying early since many of our grades do fill quickly and require a waiting list. (More information and process details below.)

  • *December 2023 Update: our Preschool and Kindergarten classes for 2024-2025 are full with a waiting list. We still anticipate availability in 1st and 3rd grades for 2024-2025, and encourage you to apply if you are interested in these grades. If applying for P, K, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, or, 8, we anticipate you will be added to our waitlist.

    Please fill out this online Application Form (or click the Apply Now button below) to initiate the application & registration process at St. Michael for the 2024-2025 school year. This Application Form is hosted through FACTs, our student information system. It will prompt you to create an account, send you a confirmation email, then link you to the log-in page of the application.

    *After November 1st, applications remain open until grade levels are full, at which time names will be added to a waitlist. If you are looking to transfer during the current academic year, please contact our office to inquire about openings at 630-665-1454.

    Is your student looking to transfer next year? We anticipate openings in 1st and 3rd grades for transfer students. If your student is applying for 1st or 3rd grade, please print and send us this Release of Records form so we can expedite the transfer process! (This form can be completed and emailed.)

  • Click to view the 2024-2025 Tuition Rates. Registrants will receive a detailed digital enrollment packet in the spring, whereby they designate a preferred way to pay tuition (in 10 equal payments over July-April or 1 payment in full).

"

Seeing the incredible work Mr. Ferguson, Mrs. Los and the entire staff at St. Michael’s has put into making this school year possible has been further proof that St. Michael is absolutely the best school out there. I know that they worked tirelessly to overcome many barriers to make it happen...and they did it not for themselves, but for our kids. I will be forever grateful for everything they have done.

ADMISSION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS

The admission process at St. Michael begins for your student when we receive your completed Application Form.

“New Family Registration” is available on a rolling basis with the online Application open November 1st. "Current Family Registration" runs concurrently, through December 15th for all St. Michael families with a currently enrolled student. (Grade placements and final enrollment for New Students will not begin until Current Family Registration is completed to ensure accurate classroom availability).

  • New Family Application Forms can be submitted online as soon as the link is live November 1, 2023.

  • New Family Application information for all grades will be entered after December 16th, according to prioritized considerations outlined below.

  • After prioritized considerations, then applicants are prioritized by the date/time of Application Form submission.

  • Admission continues and is rolling until a grade level is filled.

  • When there is no additional availability in a grade, we maintain a waiting list. If you are notified you are on a waiting list and concerned about availability opening up, we encourage you to call our office to discuss the depth of the waiting list. We are typically able to place most students by the beginning of the school year if a waiting list must be formed initially.

Age Requirements (for the 2024-2025 school year)

  • Preschoolers entering P3 must turn 3 before September 1, 2024.

  • Preschoolers entering P4 must turn 4 before September 1, 2024.

  • Preschoolers entering P4+ should have a birthdate between September 1-December 31, 2019, or will qualify upon teacher recommendation.

  • Kindergarteners must turn 5 before September 1, 2024 to register (subsequent grades follow progressively).

  • *Also, particularly for Preschool, all incoming students must be potty trained before the 1st day of school.

Enrollment Communications

  • Due to rolling admission, new families applying to St. Michael will receive an email notification to confirm receipt of their Application Form.

  • New families who submit the Application Form between November 1 and December 22 should expect an email notification regarding placement in mid-late January. (Please note our School Office will be closed from December 23-January 7, and will reopen on January 8.)

  • Families who submit the Application Form after January 8 should expect an email notification 2-4 weeks following receipt.

  • If a family receives a communication indicating their child is on a "waiting list," we will notify the family ASAP when space opens for their student.

  • Lastly, new families will be contacted to complete their final Enrollment Form (which collects information for tuition scheduling, emergency contact information, bus registration, and includes instructions for any forms needed by the nurse's office, etc.) in the spring.

PRIORITIZED CONSIDERATIONS FOR NEW APPLICATIONS

Please note these considerations are taken into account upon initial placement, from November 1 on (immediately after current families’ students are placed). After initial placement in early January, rolling admission for any remaining openings begins, and priority may shift to date/time of enrollment.

1st Consideration:
Siblings of those currently enrolled (P-8) and of graduates of St. Michael Parish School by date of parish registration.

2nd Consideration:
Children of families new to or already registered with St. Michael Parish (in order of parish registration date if necessary), or children of an alumni parent.

3rd Consideration:

Children of Families who are not registered at St. Michael Parish who:

  • Are registered in their respective parish;

  • Have provided a letter from their pastor stating they are active in the parish;

  • Have confirmed (in writing) that the subsidy will be paid by the respective parish or by the individual parent

4th Consideration:

Families who live outside St. Michael Parish boundaries who are:

  • Registered in their respective parish;

  • Attending Mass regularly;

  • *Please note, for families outside the Parish boundaries, the subsidy will be paid by the respective parish or by the individual parent

Within each category of consideration above:

    • When all of the requirements above are equally met, a waiting list will be formed.

    • Where a waiting list has been formed and notification has been made that a child has been accepted at St. Michael Parish School, if initial tuition payment has not been received by July 1, or special arrangements have not been made, the next child on the waiting list will be offered the available space.

    • Any situation not addressed by these considerations for new applications will be considered a special circumstance and will be addressed by the principal and/or the pastor.

Please contact us if you have any questions at 630-655-1454 or schooloffice@stmichaelcommunity.org.
