WE RESPECT

St. Michael is a school where children look you in the eye, hold the door, shake your hand, help pick up something fallen, apologize when they’ve done wrong, offer comfort to a friend, pray for another’s intentions, cheer on the other team, offer a smile and “hello",” or pause to wait for someone trying to catch up.

We respect.

“I like respect. It makes people be nice to each other.”

Elliot, Kindergarten

“We show respect to others when we treat people like God wants us to and are nice.”

Ava, 2nd Grade

“I show respect by listening to who is talking. That is what you have to do. You have to look at them and listen. I have a little sister and I have to show her what respect is because she doesn’t know yet.”

Owen, Preschool

“Respect is giving people the attention, praise, or care they deserve because they are from God.”

“It means treating people the way they are supposed to be treated.”

Katherine & Shannon, 8th Grade

“I respect my mom a lot because she helps me and takes care of me. She sends me to a good school and to activities. She teaches me to be a good person.”

Alessandra, 2nd Grade

“I think respect is stupendous because it is why we are all kind to each other.”

Connor, Kindergarten

“Being respectful is really important because it is part of obeying the Ten Commandments and you don’t want to break the Ten Commandments.”

Nate, 3rd Grade

“You have a firm handshake. That’s good.”
