AGW 5/22
Dear Lancer Families,
As we come to the close of another wonderful school year at St. Michael Parish School, our hearts are full of gratitude for the many moments of joy, celebration, faith, and community we experienced this week. It has certainly been a busy week, but one filled with memories that our students and families will cherish for years to come.
We were blessed to celebrate our 8th Grade Graduation as we honored an outstanding group of students who are now preparing for the next chapter of their journey. Graduation is always a bittersweet milestone, but we are incredibly proud of the young men and women they have become. We know they will continue to live out this year’s theme of Hearts in Motion and Faith in Action wherever they go.
Our youngest learners also had special moments to celebrate this week with end-of-year gatherings in Preschool and Kindergarten. It is always a joy to see how much growth takes place over the course of a school year…academically, socially, and spiritually. Thank you to our teachers and families for partnering together to make these foundational years so meaningful.
Our Junior High students also enjoyed some well deserved fun and fellowship during their trip to Main Event, while our 8th graders had an unforgettable experience exploring downtown Chicago together.
We have certainly been blessed with absolutely beautiful weather this week, and we are praying for continued sunshine and great weather next week as we prepare for our 1st Annual SMPS Field Day! The excitement among students and staff is building quickly, and we cannot wait for this incredible day of fun and community.
A very special thank you goes out to the MANY parents and families who have generously donated items for Field Day, from food and water to games, supplies, and equipment. Your generosity and willingness to help are what make events like this possible. This is going to be an amazing event because of your support, and we are deeply grateful for the partnership we share with our families.
We will officially close out another successful school year on Thursday, May 28th. We will begin the day together with our final All School Mass, followed by popsicles on the playground before our 10:00 AM dismissal. It is always a special way to celebrate the end of the year together as one school family.
As many of you know, construction and campus improvement projects will begin shortly after the school year concludes…WIllow Ave Project, Parish Center (Kitchen) remodel, flooring repairs inside Door 1, and a new Chiller AC unit on the roof for the school. Because of the work taking place throughout the summer, the school office will maintain sporadic hours. We kindly ask that you call ahead to make sure we are open before making a trip to the school building. We will continue communicating updates regarding parking, office entry points, and other logistical changes as construction progresses. As mentioned previously, additional details regarding the start of the school year and fall logistics will be shared in the coming weeks as more information becomes available.
Thank you once again for your continued support, prayers, and partnership throughout this school year. May God continue to bless our entire SMPS community as we finish the year strong and look ahead with excitement to all that is to come.
Make it a GREAT day, Lancers!
Adam Ferguson
Principal

Hello SMPS Families!
Before the school year sneaks up on us, here’s why grabbing a school supply box kit is kind of the best idea ever:
No scavenger hunts — You won’t need divine intervention to find wide‑ruled paper in August.
Teacher-approved — Kits include exactly what our Catholic school teachers request, down to the last glue stick.
Built-in consistency — Every student starts with the same high‑quality supplies, which helps classrooms run smoothly.
Supports the school community — This is a fundraiser for St. Michael.
A little extra peace — And who doesn’t want more peace? St. Michael would be proud.
One click = done — A small miracle in itself. School Supply Kit pre-orders will be shipped DIRECTLY TO SCHOOL, LABELED and DELIVERED TO YOUR CHILD'S CLASSROOM before the 1st day of school. You can also choose to have your kit shipped to your home.
Let’s make back‑to‑school season a LOT easier for everyone.
If you have any questions, please email Celia Tagliareni - celiaryan11@gmail.com
Thank you!

School Calendar: The much anticipated 2026–2027 School Calendar is now available for viewing! Please click this LINK to access the full calendar and begin planning for the upcoming school year. As we do each year, we work hard to align our calendar with District 200 whenever possible to help limit the number of “No Bus Days” for our families. We also make every effort to stay in sync with other local Catholic High Schools, recognizing that many families have older children attending those schools. We hope this early release helps your family plan ahead for the year!
Congratulations to our Graduates who received scholarships, special honors, and service awards. Thank you to all who did a wonderful job presenting at the Graduation Brunch. A huge shout of thanks to the parent volunteers and our administrators who planned such a wonderful, special celebration. Our community is truly so blessed and we are all so grateful!
💬 Reminder! Order hot lunch! New students will need an ID number to complete the order. For your student’s meal order ID number, log into FACTS and click Resource Documents under School. Scroll down to: My Meal Order 25-26 students.
Congratulations to our 7th grade classes on their fabulous productions of Cinderella!

The pledge is already active for the current first grade class at St. Mikes, which means over ten families have signed. If you are interested in signing up, please do so at https://www.waituntil8th.org. Any questions, please direct to Joyce Tumminaro and Teresa Westfall.
